Counselling is a safe and confidential therapeutic process in which a trained professional helps people explore and cope with emotional issues, difficult life events, or troublesome habits. It can effectively support individuals experiencing emotional difficulties.
Counselling can also benefit those experiencing significant life changes (e.g., moving to a new city or country, ending a relationship, becoming a parent, or in a career transition). It provides a safe space to explore and process emotions, clarify goals and priorities, develop coping strategies and gain perspective on how past experiences may influence current reactions.
Counselling sessions are commonly held once a week (at least at the beginning of the process) and last 50 minutes. The number of counselling sessions can vary depending on the client’s needs and goals.
Counselling can be considered whenever a person feels that professional support could improve their emotional well-being or help manage a difficult situation.
